Safeguarding
The coaches & committee would like to remind all parents that for safeguarding purposes, they are not permitted rink-side during club sessions, competitions and the gala. We operate a sign in and sign out policy at the front desk. Parents can watch with friends and family from the gallery upstairs for competitions and the gala, and from the old café area upstairs during normal club nights. For further information, please download SIFC Safeguarding Policy (PDF).
Lisa Freeman is our Safeguarding Officer, and she can be contacted via our Contact Page.

Buying a Club Jacket
There is a huge range of training clothing that can be worn anytime and some merchandise along with our new fun mix&match range!
Here’s the link…. Enjoy!
https://www.clicclothing.co.uk/collections/swindon-ice-figure-club
To start with here are the New Club Uniform COMPULSORY requirements.
Everyone must have a Club Jacket, these are available in three different styles with 3 different logos.
These can take around 3 weeks to arrive from the time of ordering so we ask that everyone has one by the end of July so we can arrange a club photograph.
1. Team Jacket - These are a much looser fit like the previous club jackets, more like a zipped tracksuit top.
2. Uniform Jacket - These are loose/semi fitted exercise jackets with thumb holes.
3. Fitness Jacket - These were the favourite jackets when we brought the samples in. They are a fully tailored style exercise jacket with perforated ventilation on the top back and thumb holes. Perfect for the serious skater!
All these jackets are available with the Main Club Logo, Team Swindon Logo or Team Swindon Elite Logo on the back.
These jackets, in all styles and designs are first in the running order on the uniform ordering webpage.
*Please Note. ONLY TEAM SWINDON ELITE members can wear the items with the TEAM SWINDON ELITE logo or Gold Text On.
The rest of the uniform is as follows and should be worn from the beginning of June 2026.
Black skating dress with black tights
OR
Black Shorts with black tights
OR
Black Leggings
OR
PLAIN Black Skating Trousers/Track pants.
Plain Black Top/Undershirt/T-shirt etc…
All these items are available with the club logos on and can be worn to club however these club bought items are not compulsory.
Hair - All long hair should be in a bun, pony tail, platted or secured back and away from the face for safety reasons.
We do not allow hard plastic hair Claw Clips on the ice as these are very dangerous in the event of a backward fall.
Facebook Closed Group (For Club Members Only)
A group for Parents, Carers and Skaters only with updates on club news and competitions. When you request to join the group, it will ask you the name of the skater/member. If it is left blank, your request will automatically be declined and a reminder to answer will be sent. We need to ensure members of the group are active members of figure club to keep the skaters’ photos and information as private as possible. www.facebook.com/groups/1066233843393962
Photography Policy
Please can all members and parents note that photography is a very sensitive subject in and around the ice rink and we would like to bring to everyone’s attention the policy that we have within the club. Still photography and videoing of your own child is acceptable for your own use and for the purpose of ice skating coaching. However, photographs or video of any other individual member is prohibited and should be deleted immediately. If you have photos or video of your skater with others in the background, please do not put them on social media.
Moving Groups
Moving groups and how this is graded is such a controversial subject, so please see below for some pointers:
Our groups are organised not only by age categories but also by the skating levels that participants have achieved. This structure is designed to ensure safety, foster friendships, and accommodate varying abilities.
Each group includes a booster section for individuals participating in the Learn To Skate program, specifically from level 7 to platinum. Once a skater has fully completed the platinum level, they will transition to the Team Swindon group corresponding to their age bracket when a spot becomes available. Additionally, when a member advances to the next age category, they will be promoted to the next group as soon as a vacancy arises.
We also offer an Advanced group, from which our fully trained coaches select members who are prepared to test for BIS skills. Furthermore, there is an ELITE group for those who have successfully passed BIS Skills/National Tests, as well as a dedicated group for adults.
The age brackets and corresponding times are as follows:
5-5:45 PM Junior Boosters (ages 6-10) Level 7-Platinum, Team Swindon Juniors
5:45-6:30 PM Senior Boosters (ages 11-14) Level 7-Platinum/Team Swindon Seniors
6:30-7:15 PM Young Adults Boosters (ages 15-23) Level 7-Platinum/Team Swindon Young Adults and Team Swindon Advanced (any age)
7:15-8 PM Team Swindon Elites (age determined by height and weight for safety reasons) and Adults (ages 24+)
All this will be taken into consideration by the coaches to keep everyone safe on the ice, so if you see another member being moved and you think your child is a better skater, please remember it is not purely skating ability that is considered.
Coaches will always be happy to advise you on things your child needs to work on.

Disclaimer
Ice skating, like most sports, can be dangerous. Swindon Ice Figure Club endeavours to minimise accidents and injuries by employing fully qualified professional coaches. However, we accept no responsibility for any accidents occurring during Club sessions. We recommend that parents/guardians of skaters remain in the building and then in the unlikely event of an accident you can be easily contacted. It is imperative that Emergency Contact details are complete on the Membership form, and should any contact details change, that Club is notified of any changes as soon as possible.
At the start of every session the coaches will put all the skaters through a warmup, which is very important. If a member arrives more than 10 minutes late for their session and has not completed the warm-up then the club accepts no responsibility for that skater during that session. The register will be marked that they were late and repeated lateness will prompt their membership being reviewed.
Club Dates
Club runs through the whole year with the exception of 2 weeks over the Christmas period.
